The members of the Butts County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) received high commendations from the National Criminal Enforcement Association (NCEA) last week.
All law enforcement agencies in the U.S. and Canada are eligible for awards, and BCSO brought home four of them.
Interstate Crime Enforcement (ICE) Officer Michael Broce was awarded Interdiction Officer of 2009.
Narcotics Sgt. Keith Kendrick was given two awards and a third on behalf of the Narcotics Division. Kendrick received commendations for largest street level prescription medication seizure for 2009 and most weapons seized for 2009.
BCSO Narcotics was named specialized narcotics unit of 2009.
The Narcotics Division is comprised of Kendrick, and investigators Trent Anderson and Tommy Middleton.
NCEA is a non-profit member based organization comprised of law enforcement officers. Members run the gamut from highway interdiction operations to investigators involved in advanced criminal investigations and the financial aspects of criminal profiteering.
