Not long thereafter, the Board of Commissioners adopted the county’s budget and set an overall millage rate for the county, which includes a hike from the school system, but not from the county.

- Indian Springs triathlon draws more than 500
In spite of temperatures of over 90 degrees each day for the preceding two weeks, more than 500 participants, volunteers, and supporters began to arrive at Indian Springs State Park shortly after daybreak on Saturday, for the 10th Annual Tri the Parks Triathlon. The competition consisted of a 600-meter swim in the lake at the state park, a 14.3-mile bicycle race, and a 3.1-mile run, all back to back.
