This year’s Henry Medical Center Foundation Garden Party will have a decidedly West Coast theme.
The Hollywood Hits Henry Garden Party fund-raiser will be held at Eagle’s Landing Country Club in Stockbridge on May 1, at 6:30 p.m., according to Adam Stanfield, executive director of the foundation.
Tickets are $150 each, and the proceeds will support Henry Medical Center’s continued growth and development, Stanfield said. “We’re looking for the event to raise $70,000,” he said.
Despite a rocky economy, he said donations from hospital supporters are anticipated to be strong for this year’s event.
Stanfield said that historically, the fund-raisers generate between $70,000 and $90,000 for the hospital. “That just illustrates that giving is not off,” he said.
Attendees will arrive at the party to a photo opportunity against a commemorative, movie-premiere style backdrop, Stanfield said. Following hors d’oeuvres and cocktails on the clubhouse landing, the party will move outside to a tent where guests will enjoy dinner under the stars and dance to live music provided by the Atlanta Beat.
The theme of this year’s fund-raiser, “glitz, glamour, and giving,” was conceived by the foundation’s Special Events Planning Committee, which is led by Julia Kelley.
“This year marks the 30th anniversary of the garden party, and we intend to make this an evening to remember,” Kelley said in a statement. “We should not take for granted just how lucky our community is to have a first-class facility like Henry Medical Center. By purchasing a ticket, or sponsoring this event, you are investing in the health of our community.”
Planning for the event is extensive, Stanfield said, and begins a year in advance. “It all starts with the de-briefing from the year before,” he said.
