A college student, home for spring break, was killed Monday morning when her car was struck by a pickup truck, Clayton County police said.

Dorothy Legros, 22, was turning out of her neighborhood, left onto Woolsey Road, from Cornelius Drive, when her Toyota Corolla collided with a Ford pickup traveling south on Woolsey at 7:48 a.m., Clayton County Police Officer India Smith said.

Legros, a student at Vanderbilt University, died at the scene, Smith said, and a passenger she was driving to the airport was taken to Atlanta Medical Center. The passenger, whose name was not released, was reportedly in stable condition, according to Smith.

The impact of the crash pushed Legros’ Corolla off the roadway, Smith said.

Dalton K. Hunter Cavender, the driver of the pickup, was taken to an area hospital for minor injuries. He was not facing any charges, Smith said.
